What is NeeDoh made of, and what is inside?
Schylling says most NeeDoh products are made the same way: "The outer material is thermoplastic rubber (TPR) and the fill inside is polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)". Colour-changing versions also contain a water-soluble dye. The Nice Cube is different: Schylling says its fill is "100% maltose which is like melted sugar". Source: Schylling: FAQs.
Is NeeDoh safe, and what age is it for?
Schylling says it tests during development and production so that its products meet current safety testing standards and are nontoxic. The Classic NeeDoh is rated for ages 3 and over and carries this warning: "CHOKING HAZARD—Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs., Do NOT heat, freeze, or microwave, may cause personal injury." We only read the Classic NeeDoh page, so check the pack of any other NeeDoh for its own age rating. Source: Schylling: FAQs; Schylling: Classic NeeDoh product page.
How do you clean a NeeDoh?
Schylling says that if it feels dirty or sticky, hand wash it with mild soap and water and let it air dry, then dust it with corn starch or baby powder. Source: Schylling: FAQs.
What should I do if a NeeDoh bursts?
Schylling says: "Scrape up as much of the contents as you can and discard. Then use a clean wet cloth and mild soap to remove any residue from the affected item or area." Source: Schylling: FAQs.
On the pages we read, Schylling does not say what to do if the filling is swallowed or gets in eyes, or whether it stains fabric. If that happens, follow the warning on the pack and seek medical advice if you are worried. Some shops describe NeeDoh as hypoallergenic or free of latex; we did not find that on the maker's own pages.
